Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Statedoku ("the Service"), available at statedoku.com. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Statedoku.
1. The Service
Statedoku is a free daily puzzle game centred on the geography of the United States. A new puzzle is generated for each calendar date. The Service is provided "as is" without any guarantee of availability.
2. Eligibility
The Service is open to anyone with internet access. You are not required to create an account.
3. Free use
Statedoku is currently free to play. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features, advertising, or premium tiers in the future. Existing free gameplay will remain free.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to bulk-extract puzzle solutions for redistribution
- Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to play in a way that distorts statistics or our analytics
- Attempt to bypass the administrator authentication
- Use the Service in any unlawful manner or in any way that could harm the Service or other users
5. Intellectual property
The Statedoku name, logo, gameplay mechanics, and original written content are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may share screenshots and results for personal, non-commercial purposes. Commercial reuse requires written permission.
Factual data about US states (regions, populations, etc.) is in the public domain. State names, flags, and geographic facts are not owned by Statedoku.
6. User-generated content
The Service does not accept user-generated content (no comments, no forums, no submissions). If you share your daily result on social media, that content is governed by the platform you share it on.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that puzzles will always be solvable in case of an edge-case data error.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Statedoku and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 7 days. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept them.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Any dispute arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall be brought before the competent courts of France, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your jurisdiction.
