Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Statedoku ("we", "us", "the site") handles information when you visit statedoku.com. We've built this game to be as privacy-respecting as possible — you don't need to sign up, and most of what we store stays on your device.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Stored locally on your device

The game uses your browser's localStorage to remember:

  • Your current puzzle progress (cells filled, mistakes made, completion time)
  • Your historical statistics (puzzles played, win rate, streak, best time)
  • Your language preference (EN, FR, ES)
  • Your consent decision (if ads are enabled)
  • An admin session token (only if you authenticated as administrator)

This data never leaves your device. We don't have a database. You can wipe it any time via your browser settings or by clearing the site's local data.

1.2 Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) logs standard request information (IP address, user agent, timestamp, URL requested) for security and DDoS protection. This data is processed under Cloudflare's privacy terms and is not shared with us in personally identifiable form.

1.3 Information you provide

None. We don't have accounts, no contact forms, no newsletter. You play and leave.

2. Cookies

We do not use cookies directly. We use localStorage, which is similar but cannot be sent automatically to servers like cookies are.

If we enable advertising in the future (see §3), the ad provider may set its own cookies only after you accept ads via our consent banner.

3. Third-party services

3.1 Cloudflare (hosting & CDN)

Statedoku is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes your IP address for routing and security. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

3.2 Google Fonts

The font "Inter" is loaded from Google Fonts. Google may log your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.

3.3 Google AdSense (only if you opt-in)

Advertising is currently disabled. If we enable it, ads will only be served by Google AdSense after you accept via our consent banner. Google may then use cookies to serve personalised ads based on your prior visits. You can opt-out at Google's ad settings or by clicking "Reject ads" on our banner.

4. Your rights (GDPR & ePrivacy)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you — there's effectively none, since everything stays in your browser
  • Delete all stored data — clear your browser's site data for statedoku.com
  • Object to ad personalisation — click "Reject ads" on the consent banner
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

5. Children's privacy

Statedoku is suitable for all ages but is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you are a parent and have concerns, contact us at the email below.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 7 days.

7. Contact
